< PreviousPigs on the loose A golf club over the border in Yorkshire was forced to close last month after loose pigs took over the course, causing damage and charging at innocent golfers - not your average distraction whilst playing a round! The large porkers left two people injured, causing (fortunately minor) cuts to legs, knocked over bags full of expensive kit, and dug small holes on one of the greens before being arrested, or caught rather, by the police. When questioned the black pigs reportedly oinked that the accusations of their hambush was hogwash. watercooler 70 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY LincolnshireToday @lincstoday lincolnshiretoday.net Have we missed anything? Send your rib-ticklers to m.fisher@blmgroup.co.uk If you’re in need of any amusing stories this month we’ve picked out three bizarre and interesting tales that beggar belief – all happening here in Lincolnshire The ultimate trolley Now you might never have taken much issue with the size of the trolleys at your local supermarket, but ‘bigger means better’ seems to be key for Aldi, which is now trialling a giant trolley in Stamford to apparently accommodate its more weird and wonderful items. While we wouldn’t blame anyone for thinking a trolley to be a simple invention, these new mega trolleys somehow accommodate more than ten features - including a phone holder and flashing amber warning light. At 1.6m long, is it excessive? Or will this become the new necessity for shops? By the © stock.adobe.com/Zdenk Pesky crows and plastic eagles Lincolnshire is a haven for all sorts of birds, but that doesn’t mean they don’t cause havoc here! In fact Lincoln City Football Club has now been forced to install plastic birds of prey at its ground to prevent pesky crows from digging holes in its new pitch. The fake predators have been brought in out of desperation, after all other attempts to stop crows burying food found on the terraces in the turf failed. Beating the cleaning crews, the sneaky creatures - who clearly are not season ticket holders - have been picking out their favourite burger and sausage roll pieces to hide in the pitch for a snack later on. Fortunately, Lincoln City’s new fake owl and eagle appear to be working! © stock.adobe.com/nonnie192 © stock.adobe.com/CreativeZone 70.qxp_Layout 1 14/12/2021 16:53 Page 1We have been in Lincoln for 21 years and stock both new and used photographic equipment, including binoculars.
