There was plenty of excitementthroughout the Market, but a stall thatfilled the grounds of Lincoln Castle withbubbles and merriment has been namedthe best stall at the event. Bubble Inc,which was located next to the courthouse in the castle grounds was giventhe accolade for their Victoriancostumes, high quality stall and entertainment value. The stallhas won a certificate to display during next year’s event.Raising cash forlifesaversPeople across Lincolnshire haveraised more than £8000 for charity injust nine days of festive fundraising byLincolnshire Fire and Rescue.Thousands of people from Louth, Metheringham, Billinghay,Lincoln, Saxilby and Grantham gave generously whenfirefighters escorted Santa on his visit to the county inDecember. The donations are going to the Fire Fighters Charity,which provides support and therapy to injured firefighters andtheir families. The most money was raised in Grantham, wherepeople gave £3000 towards the good cause but plenty of cashwas raised at every step. Mark Baxter of the Fire FightersCharity says, “To give an idea of how important this amount is,£1200 will pay for an injured firefighter to have a week’s worthof intensive physiotherapy.
