A Stamford mum inlabour was being whizzed in an ambulance to hospital, when the vehicle got stuck inthe snow. The woman was forced to birth her baby right there in the ambulance.Fortunately, a gritter lorry was dispatched and was able to pull the ambulance freeand both mum and baby were fine. What an anecdote to share at parties, though. The recent snowstorm to dust ourregion white had the unlikely effectof revealing marihuanagrowers to their neighbourswho unwittingly dobbed theminto the police. A recent casesaw the roof of a middle terracecompletely clear of snow, despite theroofing either side still being covered insnow. Police have since revealed that thislikely indicates a marihuana farm, given theplants are grown under UV lamps, generatingheat that keeps the roof clear. As far as police are concerned, catching weedgrowers is the silver lining of all this snowfall.Kicking off the New Year’s first by the watercooler, we’ve rounded up some ofthe weirdest, wackiest and funniest news stories to grace our editorial office.
