As stylist Damien Carney,Creative Director of Joico Global, pointsout, “Hollywood had it going on in theforties, when the most glamorous stars, like Veronica Lake, showed off theirfeminine, carefully-curled coifs cascadingwith miles of style. Fast forward a fewdecades and that side-parted, prettywoman look is back. Movement andbounce is what sets the updated lookapart from the earlier renditions – but theend result is the same, pretty andgorgeous!”As well as the forties, the sixties look isalso swinging again. London FashionWeek saw mod stripes, belted sheathdresses, turtlenecks and leather all overthe catwalk shows, and as Damien pointsout, this renaissance doesn’t just confineitself to the clothes. “This happily includesa return to those trademark pouf updos, made famous by the likes of BrigitteBardot and Grace Kelly.”It’s all about the volume and acrossLincolnshire hair stylists can add oomphto otherwise flat and lifeless locks.Condition is vital when it comes to longerhair, and regardless of what hair textureyou have, the fashion this season is tokeep the feel, mood and texture of tressessuper natural, with a luxe polish andsoftness to the overall look. It’s not just your hair where the accentis on drama.
