A particular interest in hares is evidentthrough his sculptures and Paul admits tobeing a little obsessed. “I’ve done a lot ofresearch into them, in medieval times theyused to think that witches disguisedthemselves by turning into them, it’sfascinating.”As well as hares, a love of estuaries hasmeant wading and sea birds have crept intohis oeuvre too. “I see myself in the tradition of folk art, theidea of seeing something and wanting torecreate it yourself.
