< Previous20 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY MATERNITY VOICE PARTNERSHIP Q&A Can you tell us more about the campaign? Latch-On-Lincolnshire is a campaign being initiated across the county to help mothers feel more comfortable to breastfeed outside of their home. Although women are protected to breastfeed outside by law, many mothers still feel nervous and may experience anxiety in doing so. Therefore, Latch-On-Lincolnshire is asking business owners to help mothers feel more relaxed to breastfeed their babies while out and about by displaying our poster. In 2017, the Maternity Transformation NHS Programme published ‘Implementing Better Births’. The vision for maternity services across England was for them to become safer, more personalised, kinder, professional and more family friendly; where every woman has access to information to enable her to make decisions about her care; and where she and her baby can access support that is centred around their individual needs and circumstances. Better Births Lincolnshire brings together all the services across the county responsible for supporting and caring for families throughout their pregnancy journeys. We work together in co-production with Maternity Voice Partnership as well as service providers to ensure that it’s not only easier for you to access high-quality care, but that you are also able to choose the services most suited to your needs. The Lincolnshire Maternity Voice Partnership (MVP) plays a fundamental role in helping to improve maternity services. They are a group of people made up of parents, health care professionals and commissioners whose sole aim is to listen to experiences and suggestions, the good, bad and indifferent. The NHS want to hear from families, warts and all. With this feedback, the MVP works with the NHS and supporting services to look at how they can improve services. They are the voice for families and feed directly into the NHS to share their experience in the hopes that their journeys are improved, safety is improved, and infant mortality rates reduced. Breastfeeding rates across the county have been historically low, we want to help and support families to give their babies the best start in life by supporting a breastfeeding campaign in Lincolnshire with which: * We want to make Lincolnshire a breastfeeding friendly county * We want to know what would a breastfeeding friendly Lincolnshire look like to you * We want to know what difference might it make to your community and the mums, babies and families that live there * We want to know what advice or myths about Q&A Amanda Pike, Chair, Lincs MVP We spoke to Amanda Pike, Chair of the Lincolnshire Maternity Voice Partnership, about the amazing Latch-On-Lincolnshire campaign and its mission to help make Lincolnshire breastfeeding friendly. #LatchOnLincolnshire A Breastfeeding campaign, to encourage businesses to be more breastfeeding friendly across Lincolnshire.
