< PreviousStreet cleaners shocked Street cleaners from North East Lincolnshire Council have described their shock upon discovering something rather off among some rubbish in a Grimsby street. Hidden with bin bags left by a hedge at the corner of Thorold Street and Park Street was a large dead python - thought to be an albino Burmese python. Burmese pythons are among the largest snakes in the world and the specimen the team found felt very heavy. Although they haven’t unravelled it, they think it’s at least 10 feet long. John Munson, deputy street cleansing manager, said: “Our job is full of surprises, but this was a total shock for our team. You don’t turn up for work on a Monday morning expecting to find a massive snake dumped behind a hedge. None of us have plucked up the courage to fully unravel it, but it looks huge and weighs a fair bit.” watercooler 70 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY LincolnshireToday @lincstoday lincolnshiretoday.net Have we missed anything? Send your rib-ticklers to m.fisher@blmgroup.co.uk If you’re in need of any amusing stories this month we’ve picked out three bizarre and interesting tales that beggar belief – all happening here in Lincolnshire Tick tock In a miraculous event, church leaders have been left confused after the Grimsby Minster clock started ticking again all by itself. Though its chimes remain silent, the restart of the faulty clock is thought to be divine intervention after quotes for its repair reached to £50,000. Those at the church do not know how or why it is working again - not only is the mechanism right as rain, but the clock tells the correct time on all faces. It had previously been stuck at just past 12 o’clock. From dogs knocking items over, to damage caused by tripping owners, Aviva has revealed some of the most unusual insurance claims linked to furry friends. Carpets, TVs and laptops are often victims to canine capers, but one pup wreaked havoc to an entire kitchen when he got curious. The young Labradane managed to turn on the tap in his kitchen, while his owners were out, causing around £4,000 of damage by flooding the room. Aviva says he was caught on the house’s security camera wearing a decidedly hangdog expression after he realised the consequences of his actions. Other pooches meanwhile pulled a laptop into a bucket of water, spilled two litres of paint down the stairs, and jumped in excitement at seeing another dog on TV, knocking said TV off its stand. © stock.adobe.com/Krakenimages.com © stock.adobe.com/Pixel-Shot 70.qxp_Layout 1 21/03/2022 14:32 Page 1Freephone: 0800 328 5492 Email: sales@allertonuk.com Website: www.allertonuk.com The Dependable Choice in Drainage In rural areas without a mains drainage system, and where septic tanks will no longer reach environmental standards, Allerton can provide the ideal solution.
