One of the most aggravating things about back problems is that when you’ve suffered once there is a good chance it will reoccur. Yours may be a dull, annoying ache or something that you have been suffering from for months or even years. Poor and prolonged postures, bad moving and handling techniques and weak core muscles are common factors that increase the likelihood of back pain occurring. But the good news is back pain can often be successfully treated without the need for surgery. The spine is surrounded by a “core” of muscles which act like a corset and provide stability to your spine especially in the lumbar region. A lack of control or strength can predispose the lower back to mechanical injury and subsequent painful episodes. These muscles can be strengthened by targeted exercise – a physiotherapist can help here with WTIGM½GI\IVGMWIWThere are many ways of treating pain non-surgically. Methods such as joint injection for low back pain can be useful in targeting pain at its source.
