However, while the cool nights are still with us we won’t forget the cold spots in the house or how cranky and expensive the current heating system is. The worst thing is getting to October and fi nding that everything has ground to a halt.Waiting too long may mean a hurried decision and worse, a wrong decision. A quick fi x is often an expensive fi x and could well lead to more costly changes in a year or two.Whether it is just one or two rooms or the whole home Sunfl ow want you to think differently.Invincible Heaters™ are the only refractory clay heaters to carry the British Standards Institute KiteMark. No need to buy ‘off-the-shelf’ refractory heaters when Sunfl ow’s made-to-order, bespoke heaters make much more sense both fi nancially and by design.Sunfl ow’s superb Invincible range is Made in Britain! We invite you to compare the quality. Invincible Heaters are built to last with a life expectancy of 40 years. Invincible heaters are built with care, precision and pride at our Royal Wootton Bassett factory, carrying on a north Wiltshire tradition of British engineering excellence. Each made-to-order heater has a 10 yearguarantee and, unlike other electric heaters, this includes 10 years on the controls. The Sunfl ow ‘manufacturer’s guarantee’ means that in the unlikely event something does go wrong we come to you. Having been atthe workshop since 2012, Liz runs glass art classes andcreates her own work in-house and her work is on displayall around you as you walk in.Having previously been a care worker, Liz has devotedrecent years solely to art. Having done an access course inGrantham, she soon went on to achieve a diploma inDesign Craft before embarking on a degree at theUniversity of Lincoln in Contemporary Decorative Crafts. Itwas here that Liz found she enjoyed the ceramics andglass-making modules of the course. Liz also picked up aninterest in stone carving, which has also crept into herglass work over time.Due to personal experience of dementia, Liz chose toDelicate andmeaningfulTo step into The Glass House, a small gallery andglass workshop in Leasingham is to enter a quiet anddelicate place of calm. A beautiful,head-shaped piece of glass hasthe words ‘My mind to me is mykingdom’ inscribed, where another piece, named‘Clarity’ explores the idea of moments of clarity withinthe fog of dementia’s cruel nature. Liz says, “I love glass casting and I loved getting thelinished edges done so you could see through some ofthe pieces but it was rather time-consuming. I lookedinto other ways of working and found layering wasgreat too. I now print on glass and use it as a blankcanvas, now the printing is done in layers andlinocut.”Liz also runs classes at the gallery, with peoplegathered round a huge table, natural light fallingcleanly through the window. “I love working withpeople, I work in smallgroups and they are oftenquite therapeutic. With smallergroups you have time to really offerthat support that you might not get elsewhere,it’s really brought me out of myself.”Liz also works with school children, havingcompleted several projects with local pupils to createglass art that leaves a legacy. In 2013 for example, she worked with a group of year 6 pupils to create aLegacy Sculpture at St Andrew’s School in the village, where their individual work was set in metalwork toremain there as a reminder of their time at theschool.Liz’s work straddles a line between delicate beautyand personal statement.
